Today, the Micro-credential Forum 2023 was held in Ontario to address the skill gap.

Jill Dunlop, Ontario’s education minister, spoke about the launch of Micro-credentials in the province on March 2nd. In order to meet industry demand, the province has solicited input from 35 colleges and 200 proposals.

Approximately 1,800 micro-credentials have been approved under OSAP funding as of today.

The programme will be expanded through the e-campus Ontario learning portal, which will provide new skills to anyone looking to improve their skills.

Many educational institutions and industry leaders in Ontario support this strategy.
